Women's Sober Living- Liberty RanchWelcome to The Liberty Ranch For Women recovery home and long-term structured sober living. Obviously if you’re on this site you or someone you know is having a problem with drugs and alcohol. We ask only that you read the following information with this thought in mind; if you were able to stop using on your own, or by going to 12-step meetings, you would have done it by now. Why Sober Living? “The research shows what we’ve known for a long time” says Larry Luttrell owner of The Liberty Ranch, “four weeks in a rehab is not enough time to change an addicts behavior. Someone who’s been using drugs or drinking for years is not going to change his or her addict behavior in 28 days. As soon as they get out of treatment and go back to their old lives, it’s the same story. All the triggers are still there and they haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of why they do the things they do. At The Liberty Ranch For Women, we break down the addict’s behavior over the course of their stay here and we get to the bottom of who they really are. In this way we can address the real issues that have been going on in their life. Only then can they begin to really live a sober life.” Why does The Liberty Ranch succeed where other sober living facilities fail? Quite simply, the Ranch is a place for women to escape common social and family pressure, and instead focus on sobriety. “We don’t have to worry about our appearances. Chrystal H. a resident at the house says, “We can be ourselves. There is a sisterhood here like I have never experienced before.” At the Liberty Ranch we focus on important issues such as behavior, sobriety, and changing lives. Larry Luttrell, founder of The Liberty Ranch and who is over 20 years clean and sober says, “It’s a learning process, not just for the recovering addict but the families as well. We have seen alcoholics/addicts do well in our structure and want to be here, but because some family members were unwilling to let go of control or take a look at their own behavior, they would pull they the resident out of the house and put them someplace else. Many of those parents realized their mistakes after their kid got loaded and brought their child back to us vowing never again to get in the way again." The Unique Needs of Women Specialized treatment for women at the Liberty Ranch includes:
Other factors unique to women that can influence the treatment process include issues around pregnancy and child-care, financial independence, and how they come into treatment (as women are more likely to seek the assistance of a general or mental health practitioner). Women who struggle with addiction with their diseases in very different ways than men do. It’s more difficult for women in recovery because they face numerous obstacles to successful treatment that men don’t have to deal with. Because we focus on the treatment and recovery of women only, our recovery rate is extremely high. Why our Women’s Sober Living Home is Successful
